But how can we work with what we have today to generate sustainable grub?<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s talk *agrihood*, a new concept that promotes a localized relationship between living, eating, and working. It<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">\u2019s not new age mumbo jumbo, it\u2019s actually cutting edge innovation that even big corporations are curious about because it\u2019s working.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Non-profit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miufi.org\/\" data-hovercard=\"\/ajax\/hovercard\/page.php?id=302365856461095&amp;extragetparams=%7B%22directed_target_id%22%3A0%7D\" data-hovercard-prefer-more-content-show=\"1\" data-hovercard-obj-id=\"302365856461095\">The Michigan Urban Farming Initiative (MUFI)<\/a>, along with funding from corporate friends with local interests (inc General Motors Technical Center&nbsp;and Sustainable Brands), formed the first sustainable agrihood in America. They\u2019re based in Detroit, and they give free produce to 2,000 nearby residents.
