No apps. Arianna Gil and Sheyla Grullon \u2013 founders of NYC\u2019s Brujas skate crew \u2013 are building a community of strong, lady heshers the old school way. Face to face and scar to scar.<\/p>\n<p>Born and raised in the city, Arianna and Sheyla started Brujas to carve out a space for women in the male-dominated world of skateboarding. The crew grew fast. And they grew strong. Cause the thing is &#8212; Brujas aren\u2019t just rippers, they\u2019re intensely smart and like to get sh*t done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Like creating workshops that help young women navigate the harsh gentrification of NYC. Or cultivating a tight-knit crew with an aim at feminist empowerment. And throwing parties because, well, fun. Skating\u2019s just a jumping off point for Brujas\u2019 mission of radical, inclusive community building.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">They\u2019re skate witches working some seriously good magic.
