In the evening, she\u2019s back again with dinner.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1382\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1382\" style=\"width: 493px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1382 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/newsincerity.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/BarackObamaPresidentObamaPresentsCitizensv2s6Q1wOT67l.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"493\" height=\"594\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1382\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Former President Obama presents Betty Chinn with a Citizen&#8217;s Medal.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a way I\u2019m healing myself,\u201d says Betty, remembering her time as a homeless child in China during the Cultural Revolution of the 60s. She sees those she helps as being quite like her and it drives her to volunteer her time and Social Security money every day.<\/p>\n<p>She also gives out some stern love, making sure these friends are trying their best to pull themselves back up\u2013\u2013and they love her for it. She is someone they can depend on and talk to, something that has been scarce in many of their lives.
