But if it\u2019s Sunday you\u2019ll definitely find him delivering a sermon at Douglass Boulevard Christian Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Penwell is a minister \u2013 some might say unconventional, we just think he makes a lot of sense.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s take his thoughts on Muhammad Ali for instance.<\/p>\n<p>In the passing of the Greatest, the country has been mulling over his legacy. Ali was a legendary boxer, activist, and also a devout Muslim \u2013 the latter causing a whole lot of criticism, especially from the Christian community. Derek Penwell, however, thinks Ali was a leader who truly understood the true meaning of the words \u2018compassion\u2019 and \u2018tolerance\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Things Jesus never said: &#8220;Go ye therefore into all the world . . . and make sure everybody hates Muslims.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Derek Penwell (@reseudaimon) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/reseudaimon\/status\/799100790187106304\">November 17, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At a Sunday service shortly after Ali&#8217;s passing, Penwell lamented the loss of Ali&#8217;s strong voice. &#8220;We need a voice who knows that true power is to help us to see that our determination to love in spite of our fear is the greatest expression of power that human beings can muster.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside class=\"trb_ar_sponsoredmod\" data-adloader-networktype=\"yieldmo\" data-v-ymid=\"ym_1606461062581172542\" data-role=\"delayload_item\" data-withinviewport-options=\"bottomOffset=100\" data-load-method=\"trb.vendor.yieldmo.init\" data-load-type=\"method\">\n<div id=\"ym_1606461062581172542\" class=\"ym ym_scroll\" data-id=\"ym_1\"><span style=\"font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1rem;\">With the loss of Ali, Penwell\u2019s spirit is very refreshing.
